catholic Child Does the Catholic Church condone child molesters but not homosexuals?
I see many reports recently about how the Catholic Church does not mind much at all if someone sexually abuses a child. However, if someone is homosexual they immediately publicly denounce the individual(s)? Is this true?
The impression I'm getting is that when a child is abused its just "experimentation" and no big deal. To be far, there is no mention of this in the Bible, and thats the basis of all Catholic actions. I think that's while you find such a problem with homosexuals versus the child molesting. Maybe a new version of the Bible needs to be written.
Do the parents have to be married for the child to be baptised in the Catholic faith?
I was born and raised in the Catholic faith. I had children rather young without being married and now I really would like them to be baptized so that they can later have communion. Is it something that is done? Thank you in advance.
No problem there. Don't listen to the hateful answers. No priest prevents someone from having a baby baptized because the baby is born out of wedlock. That is just hateful nonsense being spread.
Any baby can be baptized if a parent presents that baby to the Church and wishes baptism for him/her.
Also, the godparents do not have to be married. They simply need to be good Catholics who are practicing their faith and agree to serve in life as godparents to the child. You don't even need two godparents. You can have one Catholic godparent and up to three Christian witnesses who do not even have to be of the Catholic faith. Too many people on here have no idea of what they speak.
Travel rosary In need of a good hobby, but I have some problems?
I have advanced carpel tunnel in both hands and it is so severe that it has traveled up my shoulder and I am in pain all the time as I can't afford the surgery and my doc says it's too late for my shoulder. I use to make rosaries, jewelry, I love painting statues and gardening, sewing and knitting..but alas I can no longer do any of those, even typing hurts. I am bored out of my mind and have Absolutely no clue as to what I can do now that my body is useless. I'm going nuts with out my hobbies, is there anything at all that I can do?
Utrecht sells art supplies for people with disabilities. They have brushes and other tools with very large handles so you barely have to grip them. Is that something you could do?

rosary Beads From a non-catholic point of view, and with an educated explanation, what are the use/bckgrd of rosary beads?
I would like to know the significance of Rosary beads, why some say they are bad or just ANY information on them. I would like an explanation without anything being biased because of your religion or your dislike for the Catholic religion. Also, I am not Catholic but please keep it respectful and professional!!
Thank you!!!
Thank you ALL for your answer they helped out very very much!!
The historical background is that the Rosary became a substitute for reciting the psalms, which many people who could not read or write were unable to do.
The Rosary consists of the words of the angel Gabriel to Mary at the Annunciation and the words of Mary's cousin Elizabeth from St Luke's Gospel, these make up the prayer called the 'Hail Mary'. These are recited ten times while meditating on incidents from the life of Jesus, with the Lord's Prayer recited in between each ten Hail Mary's.
It has nothing to do with paganism as some ignorant people try to maintain. Most of the words are from scripture and the meditation is on parts of the Gospels. Beads are used so that the prayers can be said without having to mentally count, which would distract from the meditation.
The Rosary existed long before the sects, cults and denominations that now make up Protestantism.were invented.

What does it mean now that Mary Mackillop is a Saint?
I have heard recently that some lady called Mary Mackilliop is Australia's first saint, i'm just wondering what does this mean exactly?
Said lady has been accepted by the Lord as a do gooder all those years ago.
To be more blunt, she will be in the 1st queue at the Pearly Gates on Judgement Day, way ahead of me i must add. She seemed a good kind person, more like our modern day Mother Teresa (rip)
