Making rosary What are some ways to make a rosary tattoo unique?
I'm getting a rosary tattoo around my ankle as a memorial to a close friend who passed away, and I'm looking for some ideas to make it unique.
have the rosary wrap around your foot and the part where the cross is, have that go on to your foot. then you could get their name of something next to it. Or get it in their favorite color. Lots of people get rosary but they're always black and grey
is it disrespectful to wear rosary bead as a necklace?
ook so i have a friend that gave a whole speech about wearing rosary beads and the little the catholic bracelets because im not catholic...well i am christian im baptist and i think its just a necklace and a bracelet and it goes well with my outfit and its not that big a deal...besides no matter what demonation we are all still serving the same God so whats the big deal?
It depends on your intentions, beliefs, and the particular rosary beads. If you are using your rosary beads for prayer, some people (such as myself) think you should not wear them, but others think that it is good to wear them as a necklace so they are closer to your heart. Also, some people (once again, people like myself) find it offensive if a person wears rosary beads. Many Catholics find that rosary beads should only be used for prayer and not as an accessory.
Also, my mother has rosary beads from her grandmother that were blessed by a pope. When I was little, she lectured me about trying to wear them because apparently if you wear rosary beads, the blessing is gone and you shouldn't pray with them anymore.
It would be rude for a random person to lecture you about these things, so I think you should just wear them if you want and not care about what others think.
cross Bead What is the biblical poem representing all the colors?
HI! I am teaching children's church on Sunday, and I plan to let the children make beaded cross necklaces. I remember doing this as a child, and there is a poem that goes along with it representing each color. I'm pretty sure that it starts out "red is for the blood He shed." Does anyone know the rest of this poem? (I don't think it is the jellybean poem) Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!
crucifix rosary Is it possible for someone to put a hex, a curse, or a spell on a rosary?
I was also wondering how the witch I got my rosary from, (odd story), could touch a rosary. I thought rosaries were like crucifixes. Am I wrong? And if a witch gives me a rosary for protection, that means it won't work? Or will it? I mean if a witch can touch it, how safe can if make me? Or am I just wrong in thinking that rosaries can keep us safe like crucifixes?
A rosary is not a magickal item unless it has been blessed or concecrated. It isn't naturally powerful like sea water, salt, herbs, stones or any other natural items. So because of this, if you hold in your hand a plastic rosary then you're not holding much. The best rosaries are made from natural ingredients.
Plastic doesn't hold energy very well. Now, I happen to own several rosaries, as a matter of fact there's a large crucifix right next to me. I got this when I took a trip to Mexico and it was actually for my grandmother. I felt it would "complete" her altar but she has passed and I have kept it as a memory of her and as a symbol of my faith of course. I go to shops and if I see a rosary section I just have to stop and check them out to see if there isn't one I'd like.
Anyone, no matter their religion, or lack thereof, can touch a rosary. Someoneone Satanic could be sucking on a rosary and NOTHING will happen (unless of course they swallow it and choke haha but that's a different setting). Even if it is blessed nothing will happen. You can serve holy water to witches and satanists and nothing will happen other than receiving a few blessings from you.
So if the rosary was a gift from someone, whether they claim to be witches or not, they could lay a sort of curse on it without even knowing. Everyone has the same abilities to bless or curse no matter your faith. If someone gives you something and bad stuff happens then chances are they don't really like you or were upset with you and unintentionally served you a curse through the gift.
If a witch gives you a rosary for protection, that is like receiving it from a priest. These are people who know and understand the power behind certain items and how they can help you.
Crosses are said to be protective because they create light from their center. So yes they are protective but only when blessed especially if they are made from unnatural items such as plastic. Wood crosses are good. If your rosary is giving you grief then cleanse it. The easiest thing I can tell you to do is to go to church, submerge it completely in the holy water and attend mass as usual. After mass ask the priest to bless it for you. You're done! Problem solved and you can begin to enjoy a more protected self.
According to Catholic doctrine, must a rosary have a crucifix on it, or may a simple cross be okay?
No, a cross and a crucifix are not the same thing. A cross is a cross, a crucifix is the cross with Jesus on it. I am looking into making a bracelet I can wear that will sort of "match" everything I wear, so I can have it with me to pray daily, and I just wonder if it needs a crucifix, or if a plain cross will do. I thought I'd ask here before I ask at church.
a full rosary generally has a crucifix. i have a finger rosary and have seen the bracelet ones -- they have just a cross. it's not the beads or "adornments" that are important.... often i pray using my fingers when i don't have a rosary handy and want to meditate on the life of Christ....the first rosaries were cords with knots so..... it's the prayers that matter so.... use what you need to keep the prayers flowing!
