What type of jewelery does not turn in salt water?What about white gold?
I gave my boyfriend a sterling silver cross necklace for Valentines day and the cross turned balck. I feel bad that this happend. I want to get him a new one, but I don't know what type of jewelery to get. I thought about white gold, but not sure how that will do in salt water. See he is in the Navy and always in the ocean. So, as you can see I want to get him something that he can wear all the time. Anyone have an answer? Thanks for your help,

If it's true sterling silver, it's just a regular tarnish. All sterling gets that, regardless of whether it's been exposed to salt water. Purchase some silver polish or a silver polishing cloth, follow the directions and it will be back to sparkly, shiny silver very easily.
White gold does not tarnish as easily as silver, but will eventually because it has a certain silver content. Platinum and titanium are really your only sure bets for no tarnish with the white metals.
