Is it a mortal or venial sin to consult angel and saint cards?
Ok I was at this New Age Catholic lady's house and another New Age Catholic brought Doreen Virtue's angel and saint cards! Another lady picked three and I knew it was New Age and a bunch of nonsense but out of curiosity I took a card from the middle pile, I got such a shock that my forehead twitched and I fell back in my chair because when I turned the card over it was St. Raphael the Archangel and I chose him as my patron saint at Confirmation and I talk to him every day! But I feel guilty for consulting these angel cards! Is it mortal or venial sin?
There is no "degree" in sin. Sin is sin. Sin is that which goes against God's will and Word, and divination is a sin. Talk to Jesus about this, repent and change your ways.
As far as "angel cards" go--remember that one-third of the angels fell from Heaven with Satan. We're not supposed to pray to angels but to God through Jesus Christ.

Style or period of artists from classic to early renaissance?
Taking an art history class and I'm horrible at telling the style or period of certain works. If anyone knows the name of the style of the following arts it would be greatly appreciated:
"Last Judgment" Giotto
"The Last Supper" Leonardo da Vinci
"Virgin and Saint Anne with the Christ Child" Leonardo da Vinci
"Christ Entering Jerusalem" Giotto
"Christ Entering Jerusalem" Duccio
"Exorcism of the Demons at Arezzo" Giotto
"Tribute Money" Masaccio
"Last Judgment" Gislebertus [I think this one's Romanesque]
"Trinity with Donors" Masaccio
"Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione" Raphael
"Virgin and Child Enthroned" Giotto
"Virgin and Child Enthroned" Cimabue
or if anyone has any suggestions or tips on how I can figure out the period or style on my own...that would help even more =)
Giotto's, Duccio's Giselbertus's and Cimabue's works are generally classified as medieval although some art historians classify them as proto-Renaissance as their art shows signs of moving away from medieval stylistic patterns. Masaccio is generally classed as an early Renaissance painter as he was operating prior to the High Renaissance which is considered as being from about 1450 onwards. Leonardo and Raphael therefore are High Renaissance artists.
