Catholics, a question about the rosary?
So the story is that the rosary with give to Saint Dominic by an apparition of Mary, right?
How do you not know that this apparition was not Satan in disguise, trying to lead people into sin by encouraging people to pray to Mary instead of God alone?
I don't believe in any of it, I'm just curious to hear what they think...
I know you don't worship Mary, but in the bible it Christ said to pray to God the father, and him alone.
I was never good at remembering where in the bible to find quotes, but somewhere in the NT, it says something to the effect of "all good miracles are from God".
The rosary has been a great benefit to a great many people. I know you are a skeptic, but there are hundreds and perhaps thousands of stories about physical healing and even preservation of life being attributed to praying the rosary. Since this is good, and all good is from God, it must be from God.
Also - the fact that, contrary to popular belief, it's NOT a prayer to Mary, but rather to God, to begin with should certainly tell us something.

Actually, no, it doesn't. It gives the Our Father prayer as an example HOW to pray. But of course, the answer to a how question is not also the answer to a who question. It's just what the fundies like to think.

What is the name of the blessed catholic boy?
last week, I read about a blessed boy that smoked cigars, went out on parties and lived a normal life like everyone else. He was even good looking.
What everyone doesnt know is that he prays the rosary 3 times a day, goes on charity works at night to conceal his identity. People only found out about his charity because when he died, around 7000 people made a procession in honor of him.
Thanks to those who would reply! This saint would be a good example to teen-agers nowadays.
