Puffy jesus Why are devout believers so doggoned huffy and puffy when they confront a bit of humor?
Since I'm forever concerned that I'll hurt a believer's deepest feelings, I try to subdue my tendency to joke about god and talking animals and human sacrifice and incest, slaughter of the innocent, genocide, and funny stuff like that. If you aren't as polite as I am, have you found that, like night follows the perverbial day, many a fine and truthful believer couldn't chuckle and join in if Jesus rang him or her up on his cell phone and said, "Dagrabbit, Bubba, or Mary Sue, it ain't no sin to laugh. And you got to admit that that talking donkey is a hoot."
It's easy to joke about ourselves, but I think God is to be taken most seriously. If you could see the way He made me, you'd know He has a sense of humor also.
God shouldn't be taken lightly.
