Michael Archangel What Church or Gathering teaches about Archangel Michael?
I have been reading about Archangel Michael and we're also treated as Gods. Since we are all from GOD. I seem to except this more than traditional Christain view. I never excepted the King James, too controlling
Archangels are found in a number of religious traditions, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism.
The only archangel ever clearly named as being of the order in the Bible is Michael.
Gabriel, named in Luke, is considered to be an archangel, as are Raphael (mentioned in the Book of Tobit) and Uriel (mentioned in the Book of Enoch).
The archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are venerated in the Roman Catholic Church with a feast on 29 September.
Is the archangel Michael the same being as who we call Jesus?
I got into a lively discussion with a Jehovah's Witness about this. She kept citing scripture that "suggests" that Jesus is the same being as Michael. I pointed out some verses in Hebrews 1 that "suggest" differently. Are there any scripture that definitely refute this association?
debodun", there is something extremely important which needs to always be kept in mind with regards to being granted by God Almighty the wisdom from Him to understand and comprehend what is inside the Bible which contains His most holy and sacred Word. A person who is REALLY SEEKING to know THE TRUTH about God is NOT going to search the Bible hoping to find a text that he/she can construe as fitting what he/she ALREADY believes. The truly sincere person searching for God's truth wants to sincerely know what God’s Word itself says, shows and reveals.
He/She may find some texts that he/she feels CAN be read in more than one way, but when these are COMPARED with other Biblical statements ON THE SAME SUBJECT, their meaning WILL BECOME CLEAR being that there is ONLY ONE correct way to interpret the Bible and that is simply to ALLOW IT TO INTERPRET ITSELF, which is what it is capable of doing, being it IS God's Word, and NOT merely well meaning words that were written by some imperfect men with good intentions.
I cannot stress to you the seriousness and importance of what I just stated.
Serious questions confront each and every human being on this earth which the Almighty Sovereign Lord, JEHOVAH God has made:
DO WE SINCERELY LOVE THE TRUTH? DO WE REALLY WANT AN APPROVED RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?
Not everyone genuinely loves the truth "debodun". MANY have put having the approval of their RELATIVES, PEERS, FRIENDS and ASSOCIATES above love of the truth and of God. (2 Thessalonians. 2:9-12; John 5:39-44) But, as Jesus said in earnest prayer to his heavenly Father:
“This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the ONLY true God [only Jehovah, the Father, is Almighty], AND of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ [Jehovah's Son].”
- John 17:3
Therefore, we should be interested in finding out THE TRUTH as to whether or not Jesus is REALLY Michael the Archangel, being that John 17:3 shows that we need to take in knowledge about the ONLY true God AND the one the ONLY true God sent forth, Jesus Christ.
Jesus on several occasions made it perfectly clear that he was sent to earth by God Almighty his Father, therefore he had a PREHUMAN existence as a resident of Heaven BEFORE being sent here on earth to be born as the perfect human man known as Jesus Christ. So the question really is how much about Jesus' PREHUMAN life as a mighty spirit creature in Heaven do YOU truly know about?
Consider CAREFULLY what the Holy Bible (get your Bible out please and follow along) reveals about the mighty spirit creature known as Michael (whose name means 'Who is like God?').
Michael is the only holy angel other than Gabriel named in the Bible, and is the ONLY ONE called “archangel” according to Jude 9 (contrary to popular erroneous opinion and belief, there is ONLY ONE Archangel... NOT many). The first occurrence of the name is in the tenth chapter of Daniel, where Michael is described as “one of the FOREMOST PRINCES”; he came to the aid of a lesser angel who was opposed by “the prince of the royal realm of Persia” [a evil rebel angel aka a demon, SEE Ephesians 6:12].
Michael was called “THE PRINCE of [Daniel’s] people,” “THE GREAT PRINCE who is standing in behalf of the sons of [Daniel’s] people.” (Daniel 10:13, 20, 21; 12:1) This points to Michael as being in fact, the angel who led the Israelites through the wilderness (Exodus 23:20, 21, 23; 32:34; 33:2). In harmony with and lending tremendous support to this conclusion is the FACT that “Michael the archangel had a difference with the Devil and was disputing about Moses’ body.”— Jude 9.
At times, individuals are known by more than one name. For example, the patriarch Jacob is also known as Israel, and the apostle Peter, as Simon. (Genesis 49:1, 2; Matthew 10:2) LIKEWISE, the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, BEFORE and AFTER his life on earth

True as all of this is, we are to ONLY approach Almighty Jehovah God in prayer through the name which was given to His only begotten Son who was sent to earth to be born as the perfect human Jesus Christ, as stated at John 3:16 and Galatians 4:4. WE ARE NOT AUTHORIZED to approach God in prayer through the name of Michael, but ONLY through the name of JESUS CHRIST. - Luke 1:26 - 34; John 14:6, 16:23b, 24

Let us consider FURTHER Scriptural reasons for arriving to the conclusion that Michael the Archangel is the same being known to us as our Lord Jesus Christ.
SCRIPTURAL EVIDENCE indicates that the name Michael applied to God’s only begotten Son BEFORE he left heaven to become born here on earth as the perfect man Jesus Christ and also AFTER his return back to Heaven from which he was sent from by Almighty God.
Michael is THE ONLY ONE said to be “the archangel,” meaning “CHIEF ANGEL,” or “PRINCIPAL ANGEL.” Notice that Michael is called "THE" archangel (not "a" archangel). This suggests that there is ONLY ONE such angel, NOT many.
In fact, The term "archangel" occurs in the Bible ONLY IN THE SINGULAR, NOT IN THE PLURAL. This seems to imply that there is but ONLY ONE out of all the spirit sons of God whom God has designated CHIEF, or HEAD, of the ENTIRE angelic host.
At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is described as being that of an archangel, suggesting that he is, in FACT, HIMSELF "THE" ARCHANGEL. This text depicts him as descending from heaven with “a COMMANDING call.” It is only LOGICAL, therefore, that the voice expressing this commanding call be described by a word that WOULD NOT diminish or detract from the great AUTHORITY that Christ Jesus now has as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Matthew 28:18; Revelation 17:14) IF the designation “archangel” applied, NOT to Jesus Christ, but to OTHER angels, then the reference to “an archangel’s voice” WOULD NOT BE APPROPRIATE. In that case it would be describing a voice of LESSER AUTHORITY than that of the Son of God (do you understand what was just stated "debodun"? If NOT, then go back and read it carefully again).
There are also other correspondencies establishing that Michael is in FACT actually the only begotten Son of God. Daniel, after making the first reference to Michael (Daniel 10:13), recorded a prophecy reaching down to “the time of the end” (Daniel 11:40) and then stated: “And during that time Michael WILL STAND UP, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of [Daniel’s] people.” (Daniel 12:1) Michael’s ‘standing up’ was to be associated with “a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time.” (Daniel 12:1) In Daniel’s prophecy, ‘standing up’ frequently refers to the action of A KING, either taking up his royal power or acting effectively in his capacity as king. (Daniel 11:2-4, 7, 16b, 20, 21) This ALL supports the conclusion that Michael IS Jesus Christ, since Jesus IS Jehovah’s appointed King, commissioned to DESTROY all the nations at Har–Magedon.
— Revelation 11:15; 16:14-16.
The book of Revelation (12:7, 10, 12) specifically mentions Michael IN CONNECTION WITH the establishment of God’s Kingdom and links this event with trouble for the earth:
“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and HIS ANGELS [compare this with 2 Thessalonians 1:7] battled with the dragon, and the dragon and IT'S ANGELS battled. And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘NOW have come to pass the salvation and the power AND THE KINGDOM OF OUR GOD AND THE AUTHORITY OF HIS CHRIST, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down . . . On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea.’”
Jesus Christ is later depicted as LEADING THE HEAVENLY ARMIES of spirit creatures in war against the nations of the earth. (Revelation 19:11-16) This would mean a period of distress for them, which would LOGICALLY be included in the “time of distress” that is associated with Michael’s STANDING UP. (Daniel 12:1) Since the Son of God is foretold and destined to fight the nations, it is ONLY REASONABLE that he was the one who WITH HIS ANGELS earlier battled against the superhuman dragon, Satan the Devil, and his angels [who were once holy angels which rebelled and sided with Satan].
The Bible states that “Michael and HIS ANGELS battled with the dragon . . . and its angels.” (Revelation 12:7) Thus, Michael is the Leader of an army of FAITHFUL angels. Revelation ALSO describes Jesus as the Leader of an army of FAITHFUL angels. (Revelation 19:14-16) And the apostle Paul specifically mentions “the Lord Jesus” and “HIS POWERFUL ANGELS.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Matthew 16:27; 24:31; 1 Peter 3:22) So the Bible speaks of BOTH Michael and “HIS ANGELS” and Jesus and “HIS ANGELS.” (Matthew 13:41) Since God’s Word NOWHERE (search if you will) indicates that there are TWO ARMIES OF FAITHFUL ANGELS IN HEAVEN—one headed by Michael and one headed by Jesus—it therefore is LOGICAL to conclude that Michael IS none other than Jesus Christ IN HIS HEAVENLY ROLE.
In his PREHUMAN existence Jesus was called “the Word.” (John 1:1) He ALSO however, had the PERSONAL NAME Michael. By retaining the name Jesus after his resurrection (Acts 9:5), “the Word” shows that he is identical with the Son of God on earth. His resuming his heavenly name Michael and his title (or name) “The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13) ties him in WITH HIS PREHUMAN EXISTENCE. The very name "Michael" itself, asking as it does, “Who Is Like God?” points to the FACT that Almighty Jehovah God [Michael's / Jesus' God and Father] is
