Mercy rosary
I'm in RCIA and have committed mortal sin, what do I do?
Friends,
I gave just gave in to my old internet lust problem and committed mortal sin. I am not Catholic, but am in RCIA. I need forgiveness from God for my great mistake. Can I only be forgiven like I used to in my Protestant days (ask God for it myself).
Also, I'm going to feel more rotten about it as time goes on, is there any act of penance that will help? (I say the Rosary daily and often the divine mercy chaplet) Can I say more Rosaries or something? I truly know that I just forfeited God's grace and it's been slipping into my life more and more after I got a really great handle on it.

ok rosary wizards- they say 'the Rosary is in its present form for the past 800 yrs', but the thats not true.
the small prayer "oh my Jesus, save us from the fires of Hell lead all souls form Hell....of you Mercy' was added from the Divine Mercy chaplet, only in the late 20th centruy, since that came about 80 yrs ago! DAAAH! What is the REAL story on the first prayers on the Dominic Rosary, what did HE really pray? What did Lady REALLLY tell Dom to pray?? and please dont tell me any guff cause I know, and its not this stuff they're telling us, now.
If anyone told you that the Rosary has not changed over time then they were uninformed. The fact that it has or has not changed has no bearing on its use as prayer. You can find out what St. Dominic did pray with a little research.
The prayer you mentioned, 'Domine Jesu, dimitte nobis' was added after the Fatima vision, actually in the early 20th century.
