What is the most ridiculous work of modern art that you have seen?
I saw a glass of water on a shelf entitled "this is an oak tree" at the Tate(somebody at some stage spilt the oak tree lol!), or a small "michelin man" figure surrounded by crucifixes entitled "television" in the guggenheim, I could go on........... I love art but some people are taking the p**** surely??
I think most things by Thomas Friedman are pretty crazy. But I love them so much. For example, one long continueous pencil shaving from a whole pencil; or some gum so thinkly stretched as to extend from the floor to the ceiling; or a microscopic (so small you seriously can barebly see it) bit of his own poop on a huge pedestal.

Why do Muslims claim that it is wrong to display any image of Mohammed?
Regarding the Islamo-fascist riots in reaction to the publishing of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed, please look at the Web site http://www.zombietime.com/mohammed_image_archive/islamic_mo_full
The claim by Muslims that any depiction of the Prophet is forbidden is not upheld by the facts. This site shows no fewer than 18 Islamic images of the Prophet. If any picture of the "Prophet" is forbidden, why did Muslims create these pictures? It seems to me that the Islamo-fascists simply don't want anyone to have the right to show a picture of the Prophet in anything other than a good light. Forget freedom of the press. That only applies when the press praises Islam and its Prophet, or when the press insults Christianity and Judaism.
Show a picture of the Mohammed with a bomb in his turban? Blasphemy!
Show a crucifix in a glass of urine? It's art!

This isn't really complicated. Muslims are different much as Christian denominations are different(there are arounf 300 Christian denominations). Why? That would take much too long to explain why different Muslims or Christians believe different things.Why do Catholics insist on burial, not cremation, if the soul goes to Heaven? Why is Mary displayed prominantly in some churches, more so than Jesus, yet in some not at all. Why do fundamentalists believe they go to heaven even when they've sinned over and over but others won't because-even if they're extremely good people-they're the "wrong" religion? Why do some Christian religions believe it's their "duty" to judge while others believe only God has the right to judge?
And why does religion change throughout history-much too much to explain-but there are drastic changes among the Christian denominations too. So, you might also ask yourself why Christians differ so much.
