why is it so wrong to cross breed I have a beautiful little chihuaha x jrt who is a happy sociable little dog?
I have read some comments on here saying cross breeders are only in it for the money. What about pedigree breeders they charge an extortionate price for puppies maybe if they lowered their silly prices people would not turn to cross breeders as I did. the lady I purchased my little dog from was extremely responsible the puppies were healthy and well cared for and wormed and vet visited she was more than happy for me to visit as many times as i wanted. Not all cross breeders are money hungry monsters and they provide a valuable service to people who do not wish to line the pockets of pure bred puppy breeders.
It is very dangerous to breed from cross bred dogs because one never knows enough about their history. It is vital to know the size of a dogs ancestors because a small b1tch could die in her attempts to give birth to very large puppies.
Experienced breeders know the approximate size that the puppies will be from a pure bred b1tch, even then there can be complications and the b1tch needs a caesarian operation. Experienced breeders of pure bred puppies know that they need a healthy bank balance before they mate a b1tch. They know that there could be huge veterinary costs, advertising costs and the cost of vaccinating all of the puppies. Both the dam and the sire have extensive health checks before they are mated and experienced breeders have the information to investigate any problems that their ancestors may have had.
Yes, they sell their puppies for a large amount however they almost always fail to make a profit. Their b1itches have puppies because they want to improve the breed and to keep a puppy for showing purposes.
I am sure that you have a lovely dog and that the person who bred her thought that she was being responsible. Unfortunately she was risking the life of her b1tch.
I am not a breeder I just love dogs and care for their welfare.
