cross Ankh I am looking for any books/information on rites relative to Judeo/Christian mythology involving an ANKH.?
Basically, what I am looking for is any rites (magickal rituals) preferably Kabbalah, Egyptian or Thelmetic based on the use of an ANKH (The Author of Revelation wore a Gnostic Cross in some references which is related) involving Judeo/Christian teachings, either references to, direct speaking of, concerning mythology (stories involving Judaism or Christianity) and possibly Islam based faith, particularly in any relation to the Knights Telmpar.
There are many magickal rites that are performed in most of the major religions today. For those used in the Judea/Christian time period prior to the 15th century of the Knights Templar I suggest readings of the Lemegeton The Complete Lesser Key of Solomon by Mitch Henson or The Key of Solomon the King (Clavicula Salomonis) by S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers.
cross crucifix Should christians wear a crucifix/cross with Jesus on it or an empty crucifix/cross?
Either one is fine.
The MOST important thing that Jesus did for us was die for our sins to give us the gift of everlasting life.
He did rise from the dead but rising from the dead did not open the gates of heaven for us, dying for our sins did. The crucifix in no way denies the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the MOST important point in all of history.
The crucifix reminds us of this moment.
The following Scriptures even suggest that Jesus wants us to lift up his image:
Numbers 21:8-9 states: And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a saraph and mount it on a pole, and if anyone who has been bitten looks at it, he will recover." Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted it on a pole, and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a serpent looked at the bronze serpent, he recovered.
And in John 3:14-15, Jesus says in correlation: "And just as Moses lifted up the [image of a] serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
Mary catholic What is the role of Mary within the Catholic Church and faith?
Also where in the bible are the verses to the Hail Mary again? Oh and one more if the Hail Mary is scriptural then why do some people have a problem with Catholics honoring Mary by way of the Hail Mary? Oh and would Jesus be pleased or displeased with the fact that people don't honor his mother?
Her soul magnifies the Lord (Luke 1:46-55)!
There is no one in all of History whose relationship with God is as complex, fulfilled, and achingly beautiful as Mary's.
She is not only the greatest of Saints, she is our Mother, as Jesus is our Brother and Savior. In honoring her, we honor Him -- and imitate Him, as we are admonished to both honor our parents and imitate Christ, Who loved His Mother.
Our relationship with Mary is that of a child to a blessed Mother who was given to us as Jesus gave her to John at the Cross.
She is our spiritual Mother (Revelation 12:17 -- And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ).........
Praying angel Catholics:Can i REALLY make contact with my guardian angel (sorry it's so long)...?
Im a catholic and i know that every living soul has a guardian angel... But can one really make contact with the assighned guardian angel, by meditating and praying and asking God kindly if he could please let u contact ur assighned guardian angel... I've heard of automatic angel writting/typing,it's a way of contacting ur personal guardian angel given to u by God,there are many books out there that can help u achieve in contacting them.Have any of u catholics tried this or any other way of comunicating ur guardian angel?Did u pray to God,and say a prayer to ur guardian angel before u had any communication with ur guardian angel? Are catholics even allowed to contact their assighned guardian angel by asking God?Let me know,b/c i really want to contact my guardian angel and get to know it.But ofcoarse first i would have to pray to God (for his approval) and then say a prayer for my assighned guardian angel and then maybe it would kindly talk to me in peace,by automatic angel writing...
Be careful. I would advise you not to try and make contact with a guardian angel, because people that try this often get in contact with not-so-angelic forces. I do not think it is wise to try and communicate with angels, because you never know if it might be a demon (2 Corinthians 11:14 says, "And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.")
That said, some saints were blessed by God with the gift of being able to see and speak to their guardian angels, such as St. Gemma Galgani. But this is rare. I would tell you not to try and start a dialogue with one, but there are prayers to guardian angels that you can say, asking that they protect you and keep you away from occasions of sin. That is all I would ever say to my guardian angel. He doesn't have to be my friend--he just has a job that God wants him to do, and that is to protect me.
